I haven't seen how the iOS port is yet, but if its anything like the previous Dragon Quest releases to phones, I'd highly recommend skipping it and just playing the DS one. And the DS one is the definitive version for that. Which is great.but a game is about gameplay and design first. The only real thing you'll be missing is orchestrated music. So pretty much, I'd go with the DS version. The PS2 version has 3D graphics and orchestrated music.īut the DS version has more content, added story, additional girl to marry and faster combat. The DS translation is not as faithful as the fan translation, but the trade off is that the fan translation isn't as well written. The translation hack for the PS2 version is the same as the one for the SNES version if I'm not wrong. However, the PS2 version looks the best and would probably feel the most real. The DS version has a little extra content in that there is one more wife for you to choose and there's an added five or six second scene at the beginning.
But if you don't care for Debroah, the PS2 version is by far the best one. The DS version has Deborah, so if you really like her then you'll have to play the DS version. There's a 3 character limit on your party, which that alone makes it the worst of the three versions. The SNES version is the worst version by far.

This game has been mix region patched by kami knows what, probably DVD2XBOX so its not an archive copy but, because of this patching it should work on all xboxs regardless of region or hacks. The original region of this game before patching is USA NTSC-U and the patching only has to do with the main xbox xbe, it will not affect any game-play of the USA version of the game. This should work fine though, if it doesn't please let us know and well see if we can help out. Think my hack and or xbox it's self is bad and needs to be looked at. I don't think it's down to TSOP as a hole, just that xbox.
